When Apple releases a new iPhone, as they are apparently doing once a year, a nation full of iPhone fans mobilizes. This time around, Apple has allowed for pre-orders of the new iPhone 3G S, and iPhone hopefuls have already snatched up all iPhone pre-order stocks at all AT&T stores across the US. Anyone putting in an iPhone 3G S pre-order at this point is unlikely to see their iPhone 3G S on launch day.

iPhone 3G S - The S stand for speed

The sell-out of all launch-day iPhone 3G S pre-order supplies at AT&T stores is probably a good sign that Apple will again see nationwide inventories of its iconic smartphone being sold-out on launch day.

So, if you’re trying to get your hands on an iPhone 3G S on launch day (June 19, this coming Friday), then your only option will be to stand in line at an Apple store and wait for those doors to open at 8am PST. You can reserve your iPhone 3G S at any Apple retail store by visiting your nearest Apple store’s webpage (ours was apple.com/retail/thirdstreetpromenade) and click the “Get Started” button underneath the iPhone 3G S banner. You can reserve your iPhone 3G S by picking out your iPhone 3G S model and accompanying rate plan on the website. When you get to the Apple store on Friday morn, just hand the store employee your information and you’ll be out of there in no time flat – with a brand new iPhone 3G S in your hand!

Of course, AT&T has still not budged from its iPhone subscriber “loyalty tax,” so anyone currently using an iPhone 3G will most likely have to pay an extra $200 for the early upgrade to the iPhone 3G S. In case you’re unaware, the iPhone 3G S will cost “early upgraders” $399 for the 16GB model and $499 for the 32GB model.

Good thing IntoMobile is giving away a few iPhone 3G S’s this week. Stay tuned for details!
