I’m labeling this story as a rumor because I’ve never heard of Mobile Today. They’ve just published a story saying “staff in Carphone Warehouse, 3 and Vodafone said there had been a high level of returns” of the Nokia N97 due to software bugs. Can anyone working at these stores, or people in the UK mobile scene do some poking around?

    Like all N series. Ha.

Friend of mine has a 3 N97 and the inability to upgrade the firmware is causing him grief.

If the networks updated their branded firmware and offered ongoing support rather than leaving users in the lurch like I was with my signal dropping e71, then these returns would reduce significantly.

Mobile Today is a genuine site. The news they publish is aimed people within the industy.

No offence but take this with a pinch of salt. There’s no buttons on the system that says “Returned due to customer not being able to use it.”

    Just a thought.

I believe it… I bought the N79 but had to return it because it kept freezing up on me which made me have to pop out the battery and restart it every time… my other Nokia 6267′s music player stopped working after a couple of months… I don’t think Nokia is very good at quality control…
