You might remember that BlackBerry Bold update from a few weeks ago that was supposed to enable free visual voicemail for AT&T subscribers, as well as enable the ability to chose to use 2G or 3G networks. Well, it looks like AT&T is experiencing some technical difficulties, specifically a “software issue affecting the interaction between the device and network enhancements being deployed”, and as a result are putting the lid on OS 4.6.0.297 until they can figure it out. If you’ve already upgraded, you should be fine and can continue getting your visual voicemail, but anyone who didn’t jump on the initial release will have to wait until the software becomes publicly available again. Tough break – it’ll definitely be nice to see this service officially come up north to Rogers at some point.
