With ringing endorsements from folks like Funkmaster Flex, Jay-Z, Akon, Sean Kingston and more, the new ‘I Am T-Pain’ app for iPhone is an absolute blast. I can say as much because a few of my buddies were playing with this new app over the weekend. I walked into the room and I could hear them signing ‘Bartender’, and, for some reason… it actually sounded good.

The secret? The ‘I Am T-Pain’ app has a built-in ‘Auto Tune’ feature, the same kind of stuff the man himself uses in all of his music. Start up one of 5 songs included, and you’ll get lyrics displayed to you clearly on the screen. Sing away like you’re at a kareoke bar, and the song will be recorded. Share it if you like via email, Facebook or MySpace.

I should have shared my version of ‘Tipsy’, but I think it’s probably best if my version never gets the light-of-day.

All-in-all, this one is good fun. Great for parties or smaller gatherings of friends. Just pop open the app, start singing, and enjoy. I Am T-Pain is available in the App Store right now for $2.99 (iTunes link).

Note: You can also buy more songs from within the app… and more tunes including ‘On a Boat’ are coming soon :) I’m on a Boat!
