texting-drivingA California man has been ordered to stand trial for gross vehicular manslaughter. Why? Turns out the guy was allegedly driving and texting when he struck and killed a pedestrian. Martin Kuehl killed nanny Martha Ovalle as she was making her way through a crosswalk in Orange County in late August. If convicted, Kuehl could face up to 9 years in prison.

All I’ve got to say is there’s no need for this nonsense. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… While driving turn your phone on silent, and tuck it away where you can’t get to it. Throw it in the back seat, put it in the glove box, whatever. Driving and texting/calling/emailing don’t mix. People are needlessly losing there lives. If we can all shift how we go about our driving habits things will change… And if we don’t, governments around the world are slowly creating laws to make sure we do!
