Motorola MILESTONE Ads Are Soothing, Less Controversial

Verizon’s Motorola DROID ads were feisty proclamations of the Android phone’s superiority over “arrogant” little devices from other carriers. The TV commercials were obviously aimed at the iPhone and its bag full of compromises. That might fly in the US, but in Europe, the MILESTONE (European version of the DROID) is taking a decidedly less controversial tack on advertising. The ad you see here soothingly informs the watcher of what the MILESTONE can do .

What gives? Are Americans really that much more receptive to controversy and explosive (literally) ads? Yes, we are.

Hey will, I believe the difference is that Motorola actually had nothing to do with the ads insulting the iPhone. It’s actually Verizon as they are Verizon ads. So the advertising this side of the pond is just Motorola selling it’s product.

I just got my milestone today in the post from expansys. I was one of the lucky ones that pre-ordered as it has now sold out, loving it so far. The only thing that is missing that I would like is that evil boot screen you guys have ;) .

If by that you mean “dull and boring”. Yes, you’re right.
