GrooveMaker has announced that its range of style-based paid apps has surpassed the 500,000 downloads marker, and has become one of the most downloaded loop remixing applications for the iPhone/iPod Touch platform. The first Groovemaker app was released in August 2009, but the range of today comprises of 11 style-based versions covering all types of dance music genres and more, including House, Hip-Hop, Techno, Trance, Electro, D’n’B, Rock, Reggae and Reggaeton.

For those of you that are not familiar, GrooveMaker allows you to create professional-sounding full-length tracks and grooves, under a term I call ‘casual productivity’. It is so easy to use and learn that anybody can create their own songs and remixes in literally minutes!

Grooves made in GrooveMaker can be manipulated in real-time (pan, volume, mute, solo, group and tempo) and be easily arranged by dragging and dropping to create full-length tracks. These tracks can then be saved, previewed and recalled on the iPhone/iPod Touch or exported as hi-quality .WAV files to any computer using a Wi-Fi network. All of this is done in real-time, without ever having to stop the music – possibly one of the coolest features in the app, I think.

All the GrooveMaker apps are available on the Apple iTunes App Store, with prices ranging from $4.99/€3.99 to $9.99/€7.99. There are currently 10 available paid apps: Club, House, Hip-Hop, Techno, Trance, Electro, D’n’B, Rock Ace, Reggae and Reggaeton. Also, there is GrooveMaker FREE, which you could give a go if you want to find out if the apps are as good as they sound!
