Verizon releases the list of popular Android apps for the week

In case you find listing through the Android Market boring, Verizon has issued a press release to spread the word about the “coolest and popular apps” for the week. Without further ado, here’s what the carrier suggest you should check:

  • Weatherbug – comprehensive weather app, available for free.
  • Platinum Sudoku – which comes with 640,000 unique Sudoku grids – $2.99.
  • Slacker Radio – personalized radio app a la Pandora. Free download.
  • Fast Food Calorie Counter Pro – for keeping track of your diet and exercises. The $1.99 app offers 72 restaurants with 8,858 menu items with nutritional information.
  • dxTop: Home Alternative – utility app that provides four different screens for apps and widgets, and also supports themes, customized icons and fonts, ringtones and so on. – $2.99.
  • NBA Mini-Bobble LeBron James – “have LeBron James right in the palm of your hand” for a buck.

The press release ends with a reminder that Verizon is still selling the MOTO DROID for $199.99 on a contract. ;)
