There’s really not much to this one, but if you’re Canadian, and want to show your support for the Olympics’ exclusive telecommunications provider… Or, if you just want a FREE virtual cowbell to ring, this is the app for you :)

So how does it work? Well, first we need to check if you have a compatible device. The free Cowbell app is available for the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, BlackBerry 8830 World Edition, Bold 9000, Bold 9700, Curve 8530, Curve 8330, Pearl Flip 8230, Storm 9530, Tour 9630… and the Samsung Omnia 2. Bell customers can text COWBELL to 2010 to get the app, non-Bell customers can simply visit bell.ca/cowbell from your supported device. Alternatively, iPhone users can download the app right here (iTunes link).

Once installed, tap to open and you’ll be greeted by the large Bell cowbell. Shake, tap or click your device (depending on your device!) to ring the cowbell. That’s it! For extra functionality like country-themed cowbells, or medal counts and up-to-date news, you may want to take a look at the Cowbell2010 App… OR, check out the 2010 Guide App (iTunes link), the official mobile app of the Vancouver Olympics, presented by Bell. I’ll touch on this one a little later, I promise :)

Again, for more information hit up Bell.
