Loopt now integrates local deals and coupons in San Francisco

Mobile social networking service Loopt has expanded its offering with local deals. I guess they needed to expand and eventually monetize their offering, and is there a more obvious way than providing users with local deals and coupons? I don’t think so. 😉

Mobile Spinach is Loopt’s “partner in crime” and it provides users with its database of hyper-targeted local offers, which are apparently not available through any other service provider.

Here are some of the examples of the deals users will be able to get (from the press release):

For example, Blowfish Sushi, a Sushi restaurant in San Francisco, offers any signature roll for free, which typically costs $10-$15 per roll. Or Palio D’Asti, an Italian Restaurant in San Francisco’s Financial District, offers an exclusive 30% off dinner this week only!

Once the deal is found, users can simply show their phone message at the restaurant to receive these discounts. These and other offers will be available to all users in San Francisco, whereas additional major metro areas such as Los Angeles and New York will be added during the coming months…
