HTC Photon rumors come out to play at Mobile World Congress

Let’s go back to that leaked HTC Roadmap that we have gotten more and more acquainted with lately. The HTC Photon is one of the more impressive devices found on the roadmap, next to the Bravo. Well, rumor has it that we may see this device launched at Mobile World Congress this year, possibly  under the name HTC Mini HD.

The device possibly may be called Mini, but this is no chump of a phone we’re talking about here. Inside, this puppy has Qualcomm’s MSM 7227 processor (600 MHz), 5 megapixel camera, 3.2-inch HVGA (480 x 320) display, 3.5mm headphone jack,  Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, 1300mAh battery – all wrapped in a 10.9 mm thick package and running Windows Mobile 6.5. The specs on this device are very nice to read, and with HTC’s Sense UI covering up the not so pretty parts, I think that this may be one nice, head-turning handset.

Whatever it will be called, it would be nice to see this thing launched sometime soon. I’m ready to see some of this roadmap in the flesh, plastic, or brushed metal. Mobile World Congress kicks off officially tomorrow, so stay tuned!
