Nokia Poland has unveiled the Nokia N97 Mini Gold Edition today, saying that it will come out in Q2 of this year for 2499 Polish z?oty, or roughly 625 Euros, or $850. Not a lot considering the entire device is coated in 18k gold. It’s nasty to most, but in some parts of the world this is seen as quite a status symbol. Either way, no matter how much precious metal you put around a 3.2 inch screen, it’s still the software that counts. The N97 Mini fixed a lot of the bugs the older, larger, N97 had, but you’re still looking at a version of Symbian that should have never left Nokia’s closed doors according to Vice President of Markets, Anssi Vanjoki.
