Yesterday was all about Motorola (with MOTOBLUR) Android-action coming to Canadians. The general feeling from colleagues and friends around here was ‘oh, neat’… Not sure it was the reaction I was expecting, nevertheless, multiple Android devices are headed north-of-the-border from Motorola, on various carriers.

I got notice earlier this morning via TELUS that the Motorola BACKFLIP would be coming to their network ‘later this year’. Cool beans. I’m still waiting to hear more detail on the DEXT and QUENCH, but no doubt news on those are only a few days away.

Getting back to the BACKFLIP on TELUS, unfortunately no launch or pricing information was leaked, but we do know 100% that it is coming to the big T. The side-slider full-QWERTY BACKFLIP from Motorola will come with Android 1.5 (with MOTOBLUR), a 3.1″ HVGA display (320×480), a 5MP camera with LED flash and video, 3.5mm headset jack, WiFi, aGPS (with Google Maps), a 1400 mAh Li Ion battery and much more.
