A fairly brief one this… the Aiptek PocketCinema Z20 is a 5Mp still and video camera and a pico-projector, all rolled in to one! It can record HD video (720p) and comes with 2GB of internal memory and also a microSD card slot. There’s an A/V jack (that also supports VGA input) and an HDMI out. 349€ will get you one, from mid-April onwards.
Why should you care about this though? Well, for a few reasons. Firstly, this combo of stills camera, video camera, and projector, as an accessory, might just be a first. But more importantly, you can expect to see mashups of this technology trio finding its way in to Mobile devices near you in the coming months! Which of the leading manufacturers are working on pico-projectors? All of them, I’d bet 🙂
