Truphone is running a neat little campaign to entice Irish folks and their friends to use the company’s affordable VoIP service. The campaign involves free calls to Ireland, USA, the UK, Canada, and Poland on St. Patrick’s Day to help users save that “other green stuff.” The promotion will run for 24 hours and is set to begin on March 17th and last from 00.01 GMT to 23.59 GMT.

However, you should know that you can only call landlines in the five countries and mobile phones in the U.S. and Canada. If you need to call someone on a mobile phone in Ireland for instance, you’ll still need to pay something. Then again, it’s Truphone we’re talking about, so you should expect the standard low-cost rates. (Alternatively, you can use the good ol’ Skype).

And as you know (or don’t), Truphone application is available on multiple platforms, including the iPhone, iPod Touch (separate version), BlackBerry, Nokia and Android. You can get additional information, download instructions included, from Truphone’s website.
