HTC Desire is available in the UK – or is it?

Peeved, I am. Do you want to know why? I went to the local T-Mobile store today, to try and get 5 minutes with the HTC Desire. I was expecting to have to fight my way through a busy shop, but instead it was empty. Not good, from first observation. Speaking to the sales assistant, he confirmed they didn’t have any. Doubly, not good. But why?

Well, turns out that no T-Mobile stores have HTC Desires, because they’ve been delayed! De-what? How could this be! Well, it turned out I wasn’t going to be getting any further granularity on the situation from the nice chap I was speaking to, other than to say they might be getting some next Tuesday 6th April (after Easter).

Well that was disappointing- I was expecting to see the latest and greatest that HTC had to offer – instead I got an extended look at the pink interior of the T-Mobile shop. I’m wondering now whether those people that were supposed to be receiving devices in the post on Monday (having shipped tail end of last week) got any?

Any IntoMobile readers from the UK hooked up with a Desire yet?
