A company called CHICTINI is out with an iPhone application called Styleloot, which they say will “set a new standard for shopping-based mobile apps.” The trick is that Styleloot provides shoppers with real-time data on sales, bargains, special retail events and exclusive offers happening in their city. Actually, that “their city” only means New York at the moment, but I’m sure other cities will be included in the future updates, as well.

Styleloot uses your iPhone’s location and combines it with a variety of data sources to show the best deals nearby. And here is the killer point – the application displays only information on sales happening NOW — at the moment you’re actually using the application!

Of course, you’ll also be able to search for specific items or brands on sale (e.g. boots, vintage, Gucci) and narrow down locations as to where they are occurring.

Finally, there are exclusive coupons and discounts that are included in the package/app.

Styleloot is available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad; and there are also plans to release BlackBerry, Android and webOS apps in the future.

I think what will make or break the app is its ability to actually have real time sales data. There are tons of shopping apps on the market. If I could run out, and check the app for local sales for something I was specifically looking for, and it was 99% accurate, that would be pretty cool.
