A minor update is now available for the Cliq XT. The update was just released earlier today, and unlike most updates, this is only available to the first 1,000 people who get to it first.
The update offers some fixes with data connectivity, random reboots, and forces closes in applications. There is more, but as we said before, this is just a minor update, so don’t get too excited. Why T-Mobile has limited the number of downloads to the update is anyone’s guess. It may be a trial run to make sure it doesn’t end in disaster, as previous updates have done.
This isn’t your run of the mill OTA, either. If you’d like to get your hands on it, assuming that 1,000 people have yet to download it, follow the instructions down below!
- Open Settings
- Scroll to, open About Phone
- Tap System Updates
- Download Update
- Install Now
- Repeat Steps 1-5
Maybe T-Mobile is trying a new way of updating their devices now? Or maybe this is indeed a test run, and to ensure that the update is downloaded correctly they are doing it this way. I’d say if the first 1,000 people who update their Cliq XT successfully without a hitch, then we may see it pushed out to a wider audience shortly afterwards.
