OpenTable, the online restaurant reservation service which also has its mobile application for various platforms, issued a press release with some impressive numbers. Here are the highlights:
- More than 3 million diners have been seated through OpenTable mobile apps, marking a 200% increase in eight months.
- Based on a $50 average check per diner, OpenTable estimates that diners using its mobile applications have generated more than $150 million in revenues for its restaurant partners!
- At the moment, OpenTable’s database contains more than 13,000 different restaurants in multiple countries.
And if you wonder whether you can install OpenTable on your mobile phone, you should know their app is available for multiple platforms — including the iPhone/iPod Touch, Palm webOS, BlackBerry and Android. Other phone users can book reservations through mobile-optimized website at mobile.opentable.com. Unlike the native application, the mobile website can’t determine your location, so you’ll have to type it manually.
