A company called Sourcebits makes mobile apps for clients and occasionally some of their own apps. Such an app is Night Stand HD, which was developed for the iPad. It crossed the 20,000 99-cent downloads mark within just 30 days, and the company’s Rohit Singal said they have Apple to thank for this. The reason is obvious – iPad ships without an alarm clock app, which is somewhat weird, to say the least.
According to mr. Signal, there are three more reasons for the Night Stand HD’s success:
- Brilliant design with bug free coding;
- Focus on one thing and one thing only;
- Value for money.
Sourcebits has about 200 developers on board with offices in Banglore, India and Atlanta, as well as designers around the world. The company’s clients include such big names as GE, NBC, Hersheys and Coca-Cola. The iPhone platform represents 70% of Sourcebits’ sales, whereas they (and their clients) had mixed success with Android…
