Koodo BlackBerry Curve 8530

We’ve known for a little while now that the BlackBerry Curve 8530 was coming to Koodo Mobile. The question has always been, when? Earlier in the month I heard May 25th as a potential launch date, and it’s looking like the stars may be aligning themselves to make that a reality.

Confirmation from an anonymous tipster over at MobileSyrup confirms this launch date, and pricing is said to be set at $150 on ‘the Tab’, or off-contract for $300… and the device will be available in silver only.

Also, by the time the 8530 launches, there should be two new BlackBerry add-on plans available. A ‘BlackBerry Social’ plan will be ready for $10 per month, and it includes unlimited BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live Messenger and more. The other add-on plan will run $25 per month and tacks on up to 500MB of data to the offering.

If you’re in Canada and have been eyeing up an 8530 on Koodo, mark your calendars. Tuesday, May 25th is your day.

was really hoping Koodo would have some creative plans… if this article is true, then I guess not. 500mb isn't very much…

@SAL – No, all you'll need is a Koodo plan and add-on….the cheapest option is $25 / month.

  • Kat

The plans and pricing will be similar to what other no-contract providers have been offering, such as Virgin Mobile.

Today is May 25th and no blackberry to be had. Now apparently it's going to be the 27th but I won't hold my breath.
