In case you didn’t know — and BTW I just learned about it — the Samsung S5560 is sold as the Samsung Player 5 in France. Why that’s the case, I can’t tell…

Anyway, the phone is now available in a special edition called Samsung Player 5 Anelka, made to tribute the famous French footballer Nicolas Anelka, who is currently playing for Chelsea in the UK.

Specs wise the S5560 remains unchanged with its features including WiFi connectivity, 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, 3.5mm headset jack and TouchWIZ UI.

What’s changed, though, is the phone case, which is white and signed by Anelka. Moreover, there’s also a choker signed by the French striker, as well as a 4GB memory card with exclusive Anelka content.

Virgin Mobile France is selling the device for as low as 1 EUR on a contract. Those who want it on a pay-as-you-go terms will have to pour out 179 EUR, which again is not that much…
