This week, Verizon Wireless showcases apps for the Class Of 2010

This week, Verizon Wireless is all about helping graduates prepare to step out of university halls. For that purpose, the carrier is showcasing Android apps which the Class of 2010, could find useful. Here’s what they got:

  • Career Starters: LinkUp Inc.’s Job Search Engine brings job listings from company websites to customers’ Android smartphones. There’s the search history, e-mail job alerts and RSS.
  • Apartment Hunters: CraigsNotifica craigslist helps graduates find a new apartment or sell dorm room furniture.
  • Budget Crunchers: Easy Envelope Budget Aid is made to make budget planning a snap, while the Student Loan Calculator makes loan consolidation manageable, providing a summary of monthly payments, including total interest and payments.
  • Networkers: Contacts GroupU allows for planing post-grad meet ups. The $3.99 apps integrates with the device’s built-in phonebook, making the process easier.

In addition to apps, Verizon is also soft-selling its phones in the press release, including the HTC DROID Incredible ($199.99), Microsoft’s KIN ONE ($49.99) and KIN TWO ($99.99), and Palm Pixi Plus ($29.99).
