Millennial Media released new SDKs for Android and iPhone (Android SDK 3.5 and iPhone SDK 3.5.5, respectively), marking the third SDK release on each operating system in less than six months.

Android SDK got a heavier update, providing developers parity with iPhone advertising functionality. Included in the new version is support for static & video interstitials, expanding banners, transparent overlay and companion ads.

As for the devices used inside the Millennial Media’s network, Apple is leading the way with 62% market share. Android ad requests grew 77% month over month, and since January 2010, Android has grown 282%, representing more than 10% of the mobile ad network’s U.S. smartphone impressions. iPad requests grew nearly 77% week over week for the first full month the device was in market.

Finally, Millennial Media reported a 138% growth in its developer community since January 2010.

As a reminder, back in April Millennial Media added iPad support to the iPhone SDK.
