The trivago hotel search is out with its iPhone app, allowing users to book hotels when away from their computers. There are more than 400,000 hotels in trivago’s database which you can now search while on the go.
The best part of the iPhone app is automatic location-based searching for hotels. In other words, trivago will determine your position and show you nearby hotels along with their distance from your current location — a feature we’ve already seen introduced in Nokia’s Ovi Maps in a partnership with Expedia.
In addition, you can also search “manually” by city, region or specific hotel name. The results list can be further sorted by the number of stars, price, distance from current location and overall rating, which [rating] gives a representative overview of the hotel’s comforts and service level from the perspective of a traveller.
Finally, once you’ve found a hotel you want to stay in, you can easily book a night (or more) from the app. Actually, you’ll click on a link that will take you to the online booking site’s hotel booking landing page…
