Here’s a PR move that also includes “doing the right thing.” College-student developers behind the Gushers iPhone game will donate all proceeds from the game sales to the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund.

If you’re not familiar, you should know that Gushers is an oil exploration-themed game that was released at the end of last year. It’s made to closely analog an actual oil drilling environment, but also emphasizes safe oil techniques through various game elements. So far, Gushers has received pretty positive reviews by players and reviewers alike. In total, more than 10,000 users have downloaded the game.

As for the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund, as you may know, it’s an NGO that is working extensively to provide emergency assistance to fishermen whose livelihoods were affected by the Deepwater Horizon BP Oil Spill.

We like the idea and are suggesting you either buy the game, or donate as much as you can to the Fund…
