RIM published a cute little YouTube video today explaining why BlackBerry smartphones are ideal for enterprise, going through the usual spiel of high availability, tight security, app support, and user control. What really sticks out is the medium RIM chose to make their pitch: paper cut-outs with sticks and magnets, closely resembling Common Craft‘s videos. Back in March and April RIM did something similar using stop-motion, also geared towards businesses.
Awfully low-tech compared to the high-grade digital effects RIM has employed in the past for its marketing, and definitely less flashy than some of their celebrity endorsements, but I think this kind of thing is really a more human, relatable, and interesting way of going about their BlackBerry enterprise marketing efforts. Sure beats the pants off the “Love What You Do” campaign.
