Malaysian DiGi is joining the growing number of companies that have deployed GetJar’s white-label app store solution – App Catalogue Express. As a result, the mobile operator’s customers will be able to download more than 70,000 free applications, ranging from games, social networking, sports, entertainment and productivity apps. These apps work on over 2,200 handsets across all major smartphone and non-smartphone platforms.

A link to the GetJar catalog is now available at wap.digi.com.my or by texting APPS to 2000.

Commenting on the news, DiGi’s Head of Marketing, Albern Murty, said: “It’s important for us at DiGi to deliver excellent customer experience at every touch point, and this includes offering rich and relevant applications that suit their varied lifestyle. We partnered with GetJar because of their vast experience in offering an ‘open’ application catalog that is supported by any device and platform, making it easy for our customers to use and enjoy.”

For the record, other companies that have deployed GetJar’s solution include Sprint, LG, Sony Ericsson, 3UK, Virgin Mobile France and just recently Virgin Mobile India.
