I pegged the TELUS HTC Desire as a hot seller (in my mind). To backup my case, Simon posted a mostly glowing review of the device… in fact, if you give the review a look, you might even catch Simon say something like ‘why do I use BlackBerry again?’. Check it out and give his HTC Desire Review a good read. It’s chalked-full of goodness.
At any rate, the whole point of this post is to bring you up-to-speed with the HTC Desire’s comings and goings up here in Canada. Having launched back on August the 6th for $79.99 on the typical 3-year contract, TELUS has been somewhat swamped with demand for the device. It hasn’t been ‘knock down the door, we need one!’ kind of demand, but still, the Desire has been a hot seller. So much so, that the device is now officially sold out! Not bad, almost a month since launch, and the supply has been completely drained.
Fear not, Desire seeker… while the TELUS site lists the device as ‘temporarily out of stock’, more are coming… rest assured. In fact, in a peace offering to give you some warm fuzzies in your insides, TELUS is also offering a $50 mail-in rebate for those that want a Desire but have to wait. Good stuff.
In the meantime, keep an eye on the TELUS HTC Desire page, and I will to. As soon as more stock becomes available I’ll be sure to let you know!
Spec Refresher: The TELUS HTC Desire packs Android 2.1 (with Sense UI), 3.7″ WVGA (480 x 800) capacitive touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU, 576 MB or RAM, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD expansion to 32 GB and much more.
