After releasing an iPhone/iPad app for lawyers, Thomson Reuters is turning its attention to tax and accounting professionals. The name of the application is Mobile CS, and it’s touted as a “comprehensive practice management tool” that extends the reach of Practice CS from desktop to the iPhone.

Registered users (about 60,000 of them) are able to access all of the Practice CS content — including client and staff data, as well as key firm data such as WIP and AR — in order to better prepare for an important meeting. This, of course, means that existing Practice CS data is kept in sync with the mobile application.

Mobile CS is free to download but it does require a working Practice CS license (AppStore link is below).

Future application updates will include access to additional CS Professional Suite and Enterprise Suite functions and data. Development of Mobile CS for other mobile platforms, such as BlackBerry and Android is currently being considered.
