Samsung has unveiled a new member of its relatively young Xcover family of devices – Xcover 271 (B2710). The new phone is even tougher than its predecessor, E2370, and is apparently the first Samsung-made product with IP67 rating for being shock, dust and water resistant, and can work even after being submerged in the 1 meter deep water for up to 30 minutes.

Rest of the specs include 3G connectivity with video calling support, 2-inch screen, GPS with digital compass and pre-installed Google Maps, pedometer, FM radio, loudspeaker, large keypad, music player, 30MB of internal memory that can be further expanded with microSD cards. Additionally, it comes with a powerful battery that allows for the device to work for up to 19 hours in 2G or up to 7 hours in 3G talk/video talk mode.

Samsung Xcover 271 will again (like the E2370 model) hit Sweden first where interested users will be able to grab it for about 1,700 kronor ($241). That’s starting at some point in October of this year…
