As promised, T-Mobile’s pre-ordering page went live last night and the G2 is now available for pre-order! Current T-Mobile customers can reserve the latest Android offering from Magenta starting now and extending until October 4th. The highly anticipated Android phone will land at your doorstep on October 6th, the first day it will be officially available from the nations #4 carrier.
T-Mobile is rewarding its loyal customers, many of whom snagged the original G1 in a similar exclusive pre-order, by offering the G2 first to its current subscribers. Customers looking to switch from their current wireless provider will have to wait until October 6th when this Android handset lands on the shelves of T-Mobile stores nationwide and becomes available online. This QWERTY slider will retail for $199 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year customer agreement. If you prefer to purchase contract-free, the G2 will set you back a reasonable $499 plus taxes.
The HTC handset will also be available at Best Buy. Best Buy applies the mail-in rebate instantly so the out-the-door price drops to $199 with a two-year contract. Radio Shack is also jumping on board the G2 bandwagon and is offering the handset with an extra $50 discount, bringing the final price down to an ultra-low $149 with a two-year agreement. Anyone going to snag this hot, new handset from HTC?
