Windows Phone 7 by Microsoft hasn’t even hit the masses yet, but apps like the Amazon Kindle are already finding their way onto the platform. The Windows Phone 7 app store already has hundreds of apps waiting to be downloaded upon release, and Amazon is making certain that its popular Kindle reading app is one of the early hits.
Like the Amazon Kindle app for the iPhone and Android, this particular one is also going to offer tweaks and features specific to Windows Phone 7. According to CNet:
Amazon says the app “is optimized for the unique user interface of Windows Phone 7,” and will include the company’s WhisperSync technology, which syncs the last page you read as you switch between devices.
The ability to sync the last page you read for device switching should definitely come in handy, and I wish it was a feature I could use for my Nook and each app I have for the Barnes & Noble reader on every device I own.
No word on when the app will officially become available, but expect it to be relatively soon. Windows Phone 7 devices will hit the U.S. market starting November 8 and a number of apps will be available for download that very day. You can also sign up to receive notifications from Amazon for when the app becomes available.
