Motorola DROID X2 launching on May 26th!

Although this isn’t officially confirmed — i.e. we don’t have the press release from Verizon or Motorola — we think we got it right this time. Verizon Wireless will announce the DROID X2 any day now and start shipping the first smartphone units on May 26th, with direct fulfillment orders starting on May 19th!

We’ve seen the leaked images, specs sheet, FCC filing – everything seems ready for the big day when you will be able to get your hands on a dual-core CPU-powered Droid X2, which also comes with a qHD (540×960 pixels) touchscreen and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

We’ve mentioned the rest of the specs before, but they are worth repeating nonetheless. Moto’s baby also rocks an 8-megapixel camera with HD video recording capability, HDMI out, 8GB of internal storage and a large 1540mAh battery.

The question is – are you going to grab one when it’s released?
