Move over, Sensation 4G and Hercules, T-Mobile’s 2011 roadmap has just leaked, and it’s bringing a horde of new devices and a hotspot to the table. From new Android devices to BlackBerrys, Magenta’s upcoming portfolio is sure to impress. All dates are subject to change, of course, but there’s no doubt that the carrier will be bringing some great devices to us this year!
June Releases:
June 8th
HTC Sensation 4G – The Sensation 4G is set to be T-Mobile’s next flagship phone, and for good reason. With a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4.3 inch qHD display, and all the bells and whistles we could ask for, this handset will be a force to be reckoned with. Hackers beware: The Sensation will come with a locked bootloader. We suggest the very hackable G2X.
Samsung Exhibit 4G (Hawk) – This handset is on the higher end of the midrange spectrum and will ship with Android 2.3.3, 3.7 inch display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 3 megapixel camera with flash, and VGA front-facing camera. Luckily, the Exhibit 4G will support T-Mobile’s 21 Mbps HSPA+ network.
Samsung Smart (Gravity Touch 2) – This entry-level Android phone will ship with a 3.2 inch display, 3.2 megapixel camera, 800MHz processor, and Android 2.2 Froyo.
Huawei E587 Wayne – This mobile hotspot will support T-Mobile’s 42Mbps HSPA+ network, and have built-in display and Wi-Fi N capabilities.
June 15th
Samsung Tass – A budget Android phone that could end up being a modified version of the Galaxy S Mini, and could bear the name Galaxy Suit.
June 29th
Samsung t379 (Triumph) – Little is known about this handset but it could very well be a Samsung Gravity 3 successor.
July Releases:
July 6th
MyTouch Slide 4G – It looks like the much-anticipated Doubleshot will be landing sometime in July, and may be just what customers are looking for if they seek power of the Sensation 4G, but desire a physical keyboard. The MyTouch Slide 3G successor is rumored to be rocking a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, HSPA+ support, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 8 megapixel camera, and of course, a physical keyboard.
HTC Marvel – This handset resembles the Wildfire S, and that’s probably exactly what it is. Coming in with a 3.2 inch display, 800MHz CPU, the Marvel likely won’t sway you from the MyTouch Slide 4G, but we can imagine that the price of the Wildfire S variant will be quite affordable.
July 27th
Blackberry Monza – This touchscreen BlackBerry should perk up some ears in a roadmap that is dominated by Android devices. Rumored specifications peg the device to be running on a 1.2GHz single-core Snapdragon processor, sport a 3.7 inch display (480 x 800), 5 megapixel camera with 720p video capture, and BlackBerry 7. Best of all, this powerful device may sell under the standard $200 price point.
August Releases:
August 17th
BlackBerry Bold Touch – Another BlackBerry will land on Magenta for those not sold on the Monza. Expected to bring a 1.2GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, 2.8 inch touchscreen (640 x 480), 8GB of storage, and 5 megapixel shooter, we’re glad RIM is stepping up its game.
August 31st
BlackBerry Apollo – Are you a BlackBerry user that couldn’t give a damn about touchscreens? Well, then the Apollo may be the handset for you. Rumored to be the next generation BlackBerry Curve, the Apollo will bring you the much-loved keyboard from the Curve, and ship with a 800MHz CPU, and 5 megapixel camera.
Huawei S7 – This Android tablet has been available at Best Buy for some time now, and we’re interested to see what this version will bring to the table. Hopefully we’ll see some sort of HSPA+ support, and at least a bump up to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
September Releases:
September 14th
LG Flip II – There’s little known as to what this handset will turn out to be, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it was a clamshell feature phone. This would explain the “Flip” part of the name, but that’s about all we have.
September 21st
Nokia Nuron 4G – T-Mobile is spreading some Symbian love to its customers by offering up a successor to the Nuron. The handset should run you about $150 on a new contract, and offer up 14.4Mbps HSPA+ support, 3.2 inch display (360 x 640), 5 megapixel fixed-focus camera, and Symbian 3.1.
September 26th
Samsung Hercules – We just got word of this handset today, and we’re already hearing about its release date. Initially pegged for an August release, the Hercules looks to be an Infuse 4G variant with 42Mbps HSPA+ support, 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus display, and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor from Qualcomm. We can also expect a 8 megapixel camera on board, front-facing camera, and HDMI via MHL.
November Releases:
November 2nd
LG Maxx and Maxx Q – Besides the names of the handset, there are no details beyond the fact that the Maxx Q will sport a QWERTY keyboard.
Other Releases:
Huawei U2805 – While we’re still unsure about this one, this could be a midrange handset that could replace the Comet.
Samsung Jamong – This feature phone is your run of the mill flip-phone with a 1.3 megapixel camera, AWS 3G, and hopefully it knows how to make calls, too.
Samsung Dumont – Nothing is known about this handset outside of its name. So, yeah.
LG Gelato Optimus II – What could be the successor to the Optimus T. We can imagine that it will retain its cheap price, but beef up the specs slightly.
HTC G-Infinity – This could be the most interesting device on the list. Bearing the “G” moniker, this could be a stock Android device that is an official follow-up to the T-Mobile G2. Could we see the G3 land before the end of the year? Who knows.
HTC Bresson – Lastly, we have the Bressen, which could be a Windows Phone 7 monster. We’re hearing that the handset could ship with a 16 megapixel camera with LED Flash. With a shooter like this, we could only imagine that the accompanying specs would be suitable. Could this be it?
There you have it, folks. T-Mobile’s plate is obviously full, and we have some great devices to look forward to. In due time we’ll be able to fill in some of the blanks for some of these handsets, but until then, hang tight!
