A company called Arnova wants a piece of the tablet market. To that end they will be launching two affordable products in the UK and across Europe – Arnova 7 and Arnova 84. Both devices are said to be designed by the team at ARCHOS, which was one of the first companies to enter the Android tablet market.
The first of the two products will (obviously) rock a 7-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) resistive touchscreen, Wi-Fi connectivity, Android 2.2 Froyo and I guess other “standard for an Android tablet” features like 3.5mm headset jack, memory expansion slot and so on. All this will be available for 99 GBP at some point in June.
Then there’s the Arnova 84, which thanks to its 8.4-inch screen is better suited to serve as an ebook reader. It, too, will rock Wi-Fi connectivity, while running older version of Android OS (2.1 Éclair). We’re not sure why that’s the case and can only hope an update will be released at some point in the future. As for the price, Arnova 84 will sell for 129 GBP…
