Last time we talked about the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, we said it will be available in the UK at some point in August. At that point, the information came from The Carphone Warehouse and now we have a more specific date, thanks to another mobile phone retailer – Play.com, which has started taking pre-orders. From their Xperia Ray page we learn that the Android-powered smartphone is available for 349.99 GBP sans any long-term commitments. The shipping date is set at August 15th, which is like 6 weeks from now.
If you recall, this particular Sony Ericsson’s baby is deemed as a younger brother of the Xperia Neo, boasting a smaller screen yet pretty much the same guts (as Neo), including the pretty fast (though single-core) 1GHz processor.
If you live in the UK and like the idea of a smartphone with a smaller screen, hit this link and “do your thing” at Play.com’s website.
