Best Buy will be offering a number of phones for free for Black Friday. That “free” part means you’ll still have to commit on a two-year contract, but that’s like given these days.

Among the devices you’ll be able to get are Sprint’s EVO Shift 4G; Verizon’s Droid Incredible 2 and Samsung Stratosphere (both in black and white); and AT&T’s Thrill 4G, Atrix 2 and BlackBerry Torch 9810.

To put it in other words, the electronics retailer won’t offer the best of the phones out there; rather, they’ll be going for the mass market, targeting folks who are just entering the “smartphone realm.” In that sense, I’ve no doubts they’ll manage to move quite a few units and ultimately make their customers happy.

If we get some additional detail we’ll make sure you get it too. Meanwhile, if you still haven’t bought yourself a smartphone, it’s probably wise to wait for another week or so. 😉
