Gamestop is embracing tablets as a viable gaming device and is giving customers a chance to try them out in-store. Select Gamestop stores will have the Asus Transformer Prime tablet on display this upcoming weekend, and customers can give it a test drive.
If they like what they see, customers can pre-order the tablet in-store or at Gamestop’s website. Pre-orders will include free games like the Kongegate Arcade app and Shadowgun from MADFINGER Games. Online pre-orders will begin shipping, and in-store pre-orders will be available for pickup starting December 19th.
The Transformer Prime includes a quad-core Tegra 3 chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz, a 10.1-inch Super IPS+ display with 1280×800 resolution, 1GB RAM, WiFi connectivity, an 8-megapixel camera and 32 or 64 GB of onboard storage. The Asus Transformer Prime will start at $499.
