U.S. version of the HTC Flyer Wi-Fi gets Honeycomb update, too

Roughly a month ago we told you European owners of the HTC Flyer have started getting the Honeycomb update. Now the company is including Americans to the mix too, releasing the Android 3.2-based software for the Flyer Wi-Fi model users in the States.

The keyword here is “Wi-Fi model” which unfortunately excludes those of you who bought the 7-inch tablet from T-Mobile or US Cellular. These two models are still stuck to the Gingerbread core, though we hope that will change in the near future as well.

In the meantime, if you happen to own a compatible Flyer, make sure it’s fully charged and connected to a fast Wi-Fi hotspot, and initiate the update process from the Settings menu. If everything goes as planned (and it really should), you’ll wait for about 10 minutes to get the Honeycomb fix, which BTW allows you to use stylus even when navigating through the operating system. Kinda neat. 😉
