Nokia adds turn-by-turn walk navigation to its web-based Maps for iOS and Android

Nokia maps Android iOS

Nokia Maps is a native navigation solution exclusive to Nokia’s Symbian and Windows Phone smartphones. It’s also available to iOS and Android owners as an HTML5 app that was introduced last year. The mobile version is a full-featured web app that give you high quality directions and access to a large directory of local interests. Starting today, Android and iOS owners can now enjoy voice-guided turn-by-turn walk navigation.

To access the maps, you have to open Nokia’s mobile website, m.maps.nokia.com, using your mobile browser. Once you give it permission, the app will pick up your location and you can search for your destination using the search bar at the top of the page. Tap on the route icon and Nokia Maps will ask you if you want audio directions for your walk. The audio file is compressed so it should only be a 2 MB download. Click yes, grab your headphones and start walking with Nokia Maps guiding your way.
