Magnetic Wallee M mount lets you stick your smartphone anywhere you want

The makers of Wallee, the original iPhone and iPad wall mount, are out with another Kickstarter project that dramatically improves upon the first design. The Wallee M is a case that can attach to the included mounting disk effortlessly with its built-in magnets so you can mount your smartphone on virtually any surface.

The video on Kickstarter shows a few examples of how it can be used such as on the wall next to your computer desk, on your car’s dashboard, or for a little entertainment in the bathroom, but the possibilities are endless. In my opinion, the best part about the Wallee M isn’t how easy it is to mount, but how it doesn’t make your phone atrocious to look at or hold. If you can get past the giant X (the mount) on the back of case, it’s very slim and sleek. It doesn’t look so obviously like a mounting case while you’re out using your phone everyday.

Here’s another advantage: it’s not crazy expensive. For at least a $40 pledge on Kickstarter, you’ve preordered a Wallee M in black or white for either the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, or Samsung Galaxy Nexus and it comes with one mounting disk. The higher the pledge, the more mounting disks and/or cases you get.

Right now the project has 220 backers and $17,112 in funding. It needs to reach its funding goal of $35,000 in the next 12 days to proceed with development and eventually ship out to backers. If you’re interested in the Wallee M, be sure to show your support on Kickstarter.
