Verizon’s Samsung Jasper leaked – Rocks Snapdragon S4 chip, LTE, WVGA screen

One of Verizon’s upcoming phones, called the Samsung Jasper, has been spotted on Twitter. The mid-range handset (product number SCH-i200) will sport a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, with a WVGA  (800 x 480) screen, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the new Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX. That’s not too shabby in our book.

If the specs turn out to be true, it will challenge the recently launched Droid Incredible 4G LTE, which carries a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4-inch SuperLCD display with 540 x 960 (qHD) resolution, 8 GB internal storage, 1 GB RAM and LTE. Actually, the specs aren’t too far apart, but the Incredible edges it out by a little.

If you look at the phone, it has that whole Galaxy form to it, such as that curved body look and feel Sammy likes to implement. Honestly, it kind of resembles the Nexus S. The name Jasper is a code name, so we don’t expect it to launch with that moniker. Moreover, we have no clue to when Verizon plans to officially announce it, but we suspect it’s probably soon. Of course, we’ll keep you posted on any new developments.
