AT&T added a new Quick Messaging phone (i.e. feature phone) to its portfolio. Called Pantech Renue, it comes with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, side-sliding keyboard, 3-megapixel camera on the back, and dedicated keys for accessing popular social networking services. It’s also an eco-friendly device, constructed from 67% recyclable components, while the packaging is made from 95% recycled paper and non-POV soy ink. Moreover, there’s the preloaded Powersaver app and Energy Star 2.0 charger, helping you optimize the battery performance, and use energy more efficiently; as well as alerts for Earth Day, Arbor Day and other important events.

The Renue is also a tough phone, with the MIL Spec 810 G design making it resistant to sand, dust, high and low temperatures, humidity, vibration and solar radiation. All this could be yours for $69.99 with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate. Pantech’s baby can currently be purchased at AT&T authorized national retailers and online, while AT&T company-owned retail stores and authorized dealer locations will get it on October 7.
