Japanese NTT DoCoMo is launching a special version of the LG Optimus Vu for hard-core fans of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Only 15,000 of these devices will be sold, featuring custom wallpaper and illustrations from the creators of the popular manga series. Of that number, 1,500 will be available online, 750 on August 30th and another 750 on September 1st — or you can visit a local DoCoMo store to get your unit.
Aside from a different packaging, there are no any other changes in the Optimus Vu, except support for mobile TV standard Nottv which is not available to users outside of Japan.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, for those of you who don’t know it, is written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. It was originally serialized in Weekly Sh?nen Jump from 1987 to 2002, before being transferred to the monthly seinen magazine Ultra Jump in 2004. The current story arc, JoJolion, started in 2011 and is one of the longest running manga series with 106 volumes and counting.
