Not to be left out in the Windows 8 tablet cold, Samsung has officially taken the wraps of the Samsung ATIV Tab, a 10.1″ tablet based on the upcoming RT version of Windows 8. The ATIV will come complete with a 1,366 x 768 display, 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 32 or 64 GB of storage, a 5 megapixel rear-camera and a 1.9 megapixel front-facing shooter for video chats and the like. The tab is remarkably thin at just 9.9mm, and early hands on accounts have noted how good it feels in the hand.
Of course, the ATIV Tab will come preloaded with the Windows RT version of Windows 8, which I’ve argued should make the device a productivity workhorse. The ATIV’s been packed with an 8,200 mAh battery so you should be able to get through the day without needing to worry about charging. No word on pricing or availability was given on the ATIV Tab’s release in the US, though we expect most currently announced Windows 8 devices to launch around the October 26th release date for Microsoft’s latest OS.
