Canada: Rogers to offer the LG Optimus L3 for $124.99 outright; Fido to sell it, too

Canada’s Fido and its parent company Rogers Wireless will soon launch the LG Optimus L3. As you probably know, it’s a low-end device, announced alongside Optimus L5 and Optimus L7 at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. So why do talk about it? There are two reasons: 1) we want to cover all phones, not just those in the high end of the market; 2) the Optimus L3 is pretty significant because it will bring people to the “smartphone realm” for just $124.99 without any contract signing. That’s huge, potentially turning a ton of feature phone owners into Android smartphone users.
