There’s a rumor circling that Deutsche Telekom, the parent company of T-Mobile, is looking to purchase MetroPCS according to a report from Bloomberg. An acquisition like this would definitely improve Magenta’s standing in the United States as it sits idle as the fourth largest carrier. Bloomberg’s unnamed sources claim that Deutsche Telekom’s board is due to meet tomorrow to approve the transaction. Even Reuters on its Twitter page has validated this rumor by having its own sources confirm these talks going on between the two companies. MetroPCS will bring 33.2 million subscribers to T-Mobile.

If true, this is something that’ll be done relatively quick. We’ll keep you posted on the latest developments as they break.
