Motorola’s Punit Soni told Bionic customers earlier this year that they had “gotten a raw deal” and promised the company “could do way better.” This “way better” comes in the form of an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update which should start hitting Bionic handsets on Friday. The update will rollout in phases and should land on all Bionic phones within the next few weeks.

The ICS update includes improved notifications, better handling of folders on the home screen, and a new Direct Access Lock feature that gives users direct access to the camera, text messages, keypad or unlock screen.
