Verizon Wireless has started taking pre-orders for two Windows Phone 8 devices, Nokia Lumia 822 and HTC 8X. The former is available for $99.99, while the latter could be yours for $100 more. Of course, you’ll still need to sign-up for a two-year contract but that’s something you can hardly avoid these days (except if you want/can pay a premium for the unlocked phones).

The exact release dates are unknown at the moment though you can sign-up to receive more information and “be one of the first to experience the new Windows Phone powered by Verizon.” I would guess that both phones will hit the carrier’s stores in the next couple of weeks.

In terms of color options, the Nokia Lumia 822 will be available in black, white and grey; and HTC 8X in blue, red and black with the latter two colors being exclusive to Verizon.

In related news, another Windows Phone device will soon hit Verizon – Samsung ATIV Odyssey, which has just recently cleared the FCC hurdle.
